Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) is an annual film festival held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Established in 1992, the festival was initially organized on annual basis, but became a biennial event since 1995 and last year with the help and support of the Foreign minister of Bangladesh once again became an annual event. DIFF is one of the most prestigious film events in Bangladesh, dedicated to introduce the mainstream global cinema to the local film makers as well as to promote healthy cine culture within Bangladesh.
The festival was founded by the Rainbow Film Society, which has, as of 2012, organized 12 editions of the event bringing international recognition to it. 2017 Festival invited 3 Canadian- Iranian artists, filmmaker and journalist to join the festival as Jury and special guests. Pooyan Tabatabaei; Visual Journalist and the editor-In-Chief of Titremag alongside Levon Haftvan; Actor and Artistic Director of Lemaz Production were invited to seat in 2 different jury chamber and Mostafa azizi; scriptwriter and producer invited to attend the DIFF as special guest of the festival. Also, Majid Movasseghi; Iranian director and critic was invited from Switzerland to run the cinema workshop for the 30 international talents and young filmmakers.
